Brewer and Ferguson Welcome Miss Teen Central Mass to State House
(Boston) – Senator Stephen M. Brewer (D-Barre) and Representative Kimberly N. Ferguson (R-Holden) recently welcomed Miss Teen Central Mass, Alanna Rauh of Rutland, to the Massachusetts State House.
“Alanna is a very smart girl and she has already accomplished a lot,” said Brewer. “She has already dedicated herself to local volunteer efforts and has started to work towards her goals. She has a bright future ahead of her.”
Alanna is 16 years old and currently volunteers at Sherry’s House, a Worcester non-profit that provides a comfortable and warm environment for children battling cancer. She also volunteers for the Be Like Brit foundation, a non-profit named for Rutland native Britney Gengel who was killed in the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
Alanna says her goals include helping people with learning and reading disabilities. She will now go on to compete in the Miss Teen MA USA pageant.
Little Miss Central Mass, Taygan Kosky also visited the State House. The nine year old Holden resident was crowned on July 13 at Mechanic’s Hall in Worcester.
“It’s always a pleasure to have constituents visit us at the State House and I wish them both well,” Ferguson continued.
